Underwater Loose tube 48 Singlemode fibres
The cable type is intended for river and lakes or direct burial installation.

Installed in soft bedded trenches or suitably anchored and protected on the sea-floor.

The cable contains 48 color coded SM G657.A1 optical fibers contained in 4 color-coded loose tubes. These tubes are filled with a thixotropic gel to prevent the ingress of water and are SZ stranded with 1 filler around a dielectric central strength member. An aluminum moisture barrier tape is longitudinally laid over the fiber-glass strength yarns which reinforce the cable core. An inner jacket is extruded over the aluminum tape. A layer of galvanized steel wires is stranded around the inner jacket to serve as armor. An outer jacket completes the cable structure.
